I started the redesign by meeting with the editorial and sales team to talk about what was important to the users of the site in order to create a streamlined navigation and easy user experience. We came up with 3 main topics that Intel’s partners cared about. I then began to look deeply into the Intel website structure and brand guidelines. These two drawings came from this research.
After creating a quick mockup for the team to approve, I translated it into a high fidelity design to be pitched to Intel.
Because time was invested into brand research in the discovery phase of the design, it was approved with a few small asks from the client including changing the site name.
After approval, I began working with our internal development team on the site build. Because this site is editorial in nature, we created a custom template in Drupal to pull in all of the content. My collaboration contributions to the development team included building out the entire front-end of the site (HTML, CSS and Javascript). We utilized Git for all code commits.
As the site was being built, I performed cross-browser testing and reached out to team members for user testing.
